| 裏面の説明 | A sweeping coastal vignette occupies the left portion of the note, rendered in intaglio, showing a lush tropical bay with mountainous terrain, palm trees in the foreground, and sailing vessels on calm waters. Two circular guilloche medallions at right bear the names of the member territories of the Currency Authority. The denomination appears in letterpress at lower centre. |

The East Caribbean Currency Authority was established in 1965 to replace the British Caribbean Currency Board, which had served the region since 1950. This note belongs to the inaugural ECCA series — the first issue under the new authority's name, though De La Rue continued printing it under largely the same contractual arrangements as before. The transition was administrative more than practical.
The ECCA itself was dissolved in 1983 when the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank took over. Notes from this first 1965 series had a relatively short window of active issue before successive redesigns pushed them out of circulation.
