Obverse description The national coat of arms of Barbados is centrally displayed in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, featuring a shield charged with two sugar cane plants and a Pride of Barbados flower, supported on the dexter by a dolphin fish and on the sinister by a pelican. Above the shield rises a helmeted crest with a hand grasping two crossed pieces of sugar cane. Below, a flowing scroll banner bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The country name BARBADOS arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1994 inscribed at the bottom, all within a beaded border.
