| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Raphael David Maklouf, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail, displaying the Queen's characteristic coiffure and regal bearing. The engraver's initials RDM appear on the truncation below the bust. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field and COOK ISLANDS along the upper right, with the date 1999 inscribed at the base, all enclosed within a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The 18-foot skiff is an Australian sailing class with roots in the late 19th century, originally raced as working boats before evolving into one of the most technically demanding and dangerous amateur racing classes in the world. By the time this coin was struck, the Sydney Flying Squadron — which governs the class — had been running competitive skiff racing on Sydney Harbour for over a century.
Cook Islands became a prolific issuer of large-format silver commemoratives through the 1990s under licensing arrangements that had little to do with domestic circulation. This piece never saw the islands.
