Canada's silver bullion program has long used the Voyageur design — originally created by Emanuel Hahn for the 1935 dollar — but the bullion application strips it of its collector-coin context entirely, producing pieces intended for the silver market rather than numismatic cabinets. The .9999 fineness introduced to this series marked a step above the .999 standard common among competing sovereign mints, a deliberate positioning move by the RCM in the bullion market.
