Reverse description Three stylized sugar maple leaves (Acer saccharum) joined on a common stem, centrally positioned within the field, as is traditional on the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coin series. The legend CANADA arcs prominently along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 DOLLARS and date 2012 appear along the lower periphery. The purity inscriptions FINE GOLD OR PUR and the fineness designations 9999 are inscribed in the field on either side of the stem. The design is rendered with sharp, detailed veining on each leaf, characteristic of the Maple Leaf Forever issue.
