| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of Samoa centrally positioned against a richly textured gold-plated field. The arms feature a quartered shield bearing the Southern Cross constellation of five stars on a dark lower field and a stylized ocean and palm tree scene on the upper field, encircled by a globe and flanked by two olive branches. A Latin cross surmounts the shield, and a ribbon scroll below bears the national motto in Samoan.
