| Obverse description | The obverse bears the full coat of arms of the Republic of Palau at centre, depicting a traditional outrigger canoe above the shield, which features a crowned Neptune holding a trident accompanied by a mermaid, flanked by floral ornaments, with the motto RAINBOW'S END inscribed on a scroll at the base of the shield. Eight five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc around the periphery of the field.
