| Obverse description | The arms of the Republic of Liberia are displayed in the center of the field, featuring a sailing ship approaching a rocky shore beneath a rising sun, flanked by palm trees, with a dove in flight above; the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arches across the top of the shield. The date 2006 is split to either side of the arms in the mid-field. | Reverse description | The reverse depicts the ancient Temple of Apollo at Kourion, Cyprus, rendered in gilt relief against the niobium field, its surviving Doric columns and entablature occupying the upper half of the design. Below the temple, two gilt representations of Cypriot euro coinage are shown: the dodecagonal Cyprus 50 Cent coin (KM# 66) to the left, bearing the Kyrenia ship motif, and a circular 1 Euro coin to the right; a gilt euro symbol (€) appears between them. The curved legend 10TH ANNIVERSARY "EURO" arcs along the upper rim, and the date range 1995-2005 is inscribed along the lower border. |
