Opmerkingen

Australia converted to decimal currency on 14 February 1966, and this note belongs to the first decimal paper series issued by the Reserve Bank. The "Commonwealth of Australia" designation was still in use here — it would be dropped from banknotes in 1974 when the series was redesigned simply as "Australia." Three signature combinations appear across the print run, reflecting successive changes in the Governor and Secretary to the Treasury positions during the series' lifespan.

The Note Printing Branch in Melbourne had handled domestic production since the 1920s, and by this period was well established as the sole supplier for Australian issues.
