Issued to mark the coronation anniversary commemorations of 1978, this note sits outside Jamaica's regular circulation series — it was sold directly to collectors at a premium and never entered everyday use. De La Rue produced it to a higher finish than standard Jamaican currency of the period, which is partly why unissued examples survive in quantity.
The CS prefix in the Pick reference identifies it as a collector issue, a category the Bank of Jamaica used sparingly. Demand was modest at the time; secondary market interest has grown slowly since.
