Obverse description The central device features the crowned Public Seal of Niue — a circular medallion enclosing a stylised native plant motif within a decorative border — surmounted by a Royal Crown and flanked by a wreath of olive branches. Two crossed spears appear beneath the seal, with the motto scroll reading ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI. The fineness mark AG 999 is inscribed in the lower field. The surrounding border is richly ornamented with high-relief gothic floral motifs, roses, and skulls evoking the novel's themes, with the legend THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY arcing along the upper rim and FIVE DOLLARS along the lower rim, all rendered in antiqued finish.
