Beschrijving voorzijde Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The engraver's initials 'DT' appear below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads '5 DOLLARS' to the upper left and 'CHARLES III' to the upper right, with 'COOK ISLANDS' inscribed along the lower arc, all separated by raised dot stops. The portrait is executed in the style of Dominique Troalen, the first official effigy of Charles III used on Cook Islands coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Cook Islands has operated a prolific bullion and commemorative program for decades, licensing its monetary authority to foreign minting operations as a revenue stream — the coins are legal tender in name but never circulate domestically. This particular San Francisco issue belongs to a broader series capitalizing on collector interest in Charles III's early coinage, his accession in September 2022 having triggered a wave of new royal portrait authorizations across Commonwealth and associated territories.

The San Francisco designation refers to the issuing dealer or distributor channel, not a mint mark from the U.S. Mint facility.
