Reverse description The reverse presents an elaborate high-relief composition of intertwining poppy plants with large blooms, scrolling stems, and acanthus-style foliage rendered in antique-finish silver, filling the entire field. At the centre, a large red poppy flower with four lobed petals is inlaid in vivid red glass with a black circular centre, serving as the focal point of the design. Two fully open poppy blossoms with prominent stamens occupy the lower left and lower right of the field, flanking the central stem. The legend 'RED POPPY' is inscribed in bold relief lettering at the lower portion of the field, integrated within decorative scrollwork.
