The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs above to the left, 'COOK ISLANDS' arcs above to the right, the engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the bust truncation, and the date '2023' is positioned in the lower field. |

| Reverse description | A stylised rabbit in full leap is depicted in the centre of the coin against a dark-toned field, rendered in a clean, graphic artistic style typical of East Asian lunar series coinage. The legend '999.9 GOLD' appears to the upper left and '1/30th OZ' to the upper right, separated by a small crown motif. The denomination '$5' is inscribed in the lower field. Small decorative symbols flank the leaping rabbit on either side. |

Issued to mark the 2023 lunar new year, this piece belongs to a long-running series of fractional gold issues produced for Cook Islands by the Perth Mint under its licensing arrangement. Charles III's appearance here is among his earliest on circulating or collectible coinage following the September 2022 proclamation — the Rabbit year gave mints worldwide a convenient first window for introducing the new effigy across themed annual releases.
