Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a richly detailed high-relief composition in antiqued silver and gilt, dominated by a winged flying monkey figure rendered in gold-colored relief at center, its arms outstretched and wearing an ornate crown. The monkey is surrounded by vibrant red poppies with gilt centers, inlaid with green crystal gemstones at the shoulders and upper field. Flanking the central motif are two armored sentinel busts bearing torches, set against a backdrop of baroque scrollwork, a large ornamental keyhole door, and interlocking steampunk gears. The letter OZ appears in large gilt baroque script in the upper field.

Aanvullende informatie

Niue has operated as a prolific licensing hub for themed collector coins since the 1990s, with the New Zealand Mint handling production for most of its pop-culture issues under formal IP agreements. The Wizard of Oz franchise — held by Warner Bros. — has appeared across numerous mint programs globally, though few incorporate physical material elements into the planchet itself. The green crystal inclusions here are an applied production technique, not an intrinsic alloy property, achieved through resin-set stones seated into the die-struck field.
