| Beschrijving keerzijde | A finely detailed high-relief depiction of a koala clinging to a diagonal eucalyptus branch occupies the right portion of the rectangular field, rendered with naturalistic fur texture and expressive facial features. To the left, an inset round brilliant-cut diamond (0.004 ct, SI clarity, approximately 0.8 mm diameter) is set flush into the gold surface. The legend BRILLIANT BABY BAR arcs in two lines in the upper left field, with the species name KOALA inscribed below in a separate panel, and the date 2023 beneath it. |

Niue has operated as a bullion licensing jurisdiction since the 1990s, lending its name and legal tender status to coins it neither designs nor physically produces — this piece is struck by the Perth Mint under that arrangement. The embedded diamond is a commercial differentiator, not a numismatic tradition; Perth introduced the format to the Koala series to compete in the fractional gold gift market. Charles III's effigy appears here for one of the first times on a Niue-licensed gold issue following the 2022 accession.
