Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a detailed composition commemorating the founding of Czechoslovakia on 28 October 1918. The central field depicts a contoured map of Czechoslovakia, above which the Czechoslovak coat of arms and national flags are displayed. Facing portraits of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, the first President of Czechoslovakia, and General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, statesman and co-founder of the republic, appear in the lower portion of the field, rendered in high-relief against an architectural cityscape background. The legend 'VZNIK ČESKO-SLOVENSKA' curves along the upper border, with the date '28. 10. 1918' inscribed in the lower field. The entire design is framed by a finely hatched decorative border.

Aanvullende informatie

This piece belongs to a growing category of numismatic curiosities: a Pacific island nation issuing silver coinage commemorating a Central European monarch. Niue has used its Commonwealth mint agreement to produce collector issues for decades, functioning essentially as a vehicle for third-party minting programs rather than circulating currency. Charles III's accession in September 2022, following the death of Elizabeth II, triggered a wave of new portrait authorizations across Commonwealth and associated issuing territories.
