Amazing Fantasy #15, published in August 1962, introduced Spider-Man as a last-minute addition to a failing anthology title Marvel was about to cancel — editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko had little expectation the character would land. The issue sold well enough to warrant a solo series, which launched the following year.
Niue has issued licensed pop-culture silver coins under New Zealand's currency framework since the early 2010s, making it one of the more active issuers in the collector bullion space. The two-troy-ounce format places this squarely in the premium commemorative tier rather than anything approaching face value utility.
