Issued to mark the 30th anniversary of the People's Association, a statutory body established in 1960 to foster community cohesion across Singapore's multiracial population in the tense years following self-governance. The PA administered community centres that served a dual function in the early decades — social programming on the surface, grassroots political integration underneath.
