| Reverse description | The reverse features a highly detailed, naturalistic rendering of an open Pinctada margaritifera oyster shell occupying the central field, its textured exterior contrasting with the smooth nacre of the interior valve. A genuine black pearl insert is set into the interior of the open shell, positioned toward the lower center of the composition. The upper portion of the field is finished with a frosted, wave-like band bearing the arc legend MARINE LIFE PROTECTION and, immediately below, the secondary legend BLACK PEARL. The scientific name pinctada margaritifera is inscribed in italic script at the lower left of the field, with the date 2006 at the bottom. |
