Reverse description The reverse depicts a richly detailed composition commemorating the ancient Roman city of Aquileia, one of the most important stops along the historic Amber Route. At upper left, a group of Roman columns rises from the field, while the foreground features the iconic she-wolf (Lupa Capitolina) suckling Romulus and Remus atop a decorative base. To the upper right, a large mosaic-style face in relief evokes the Roman archaeological heritage of the site. In the lower right, an incuse depiction of a Roman imperial coin portrait is rendered in relief. A polished, cabochon-cut amber gemstone is inlaid at the bottom center of the design. The legend AQUILEIA arcs across the upper rim in Roman-style lettering.
