| Obverse description | The concave obverse features a highly detailed, deeply sculpted astronaut bootprint impressed into the lunar regolith, rendered in high relief at the center of the field. Encircling the upper portion of the coin are the legends MERCURY, GEMINI, and APOLLO, separated by small circular bullet devices representing the three NASA programs. The inscription LIBERTY appears along the lower rim, while IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed to the right of the bootprint. The date 2019 with the W mint mark appears at the lower left, accompanied by the engraver's initials JFM. |
