| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features a vibrant colour-printed commemorative design celebrating the 50th anniversary of Singapore's public housing programme. In the foreground, four joyful children of diverse ethnicities are depicted running together across a grassy area, symbolising community and harmony. Behind them, a colourful streetscape transitions from low-rise colonial-era terrace houses on the left to modern high-rise Housing Development Board apartment blocks occupying the centre and right of the composition. The stylised numeral '50' incorporating a house motif appears in the upper left, accompanied by the commemorative legend 'Celebrating 50 Years of Public Housing' to its right. The denomination '$5' is inscribed in relief at the lower left, with decorative foliate flourishes framing the composition on either side. |

Singapore's public housing program, launched by the Housing and Development Board in 1960, resettled a population that was largely living in overcrowded shophouses and rural kampongs into government-built flats within a single generation — one of the most rapid urban transformations in postwar Asia. By 2010, over 80% of Singapore's resident population lived in HDB flats, a figure without parallel among developed economies.
The .999 silver KM#362a was issued alongside a base-metal circulation version, KM#362, the same year.
