Obverse description Black letterpress print on plain paper. The bank's heraldic coat of arms vignette occupies upper centre, flanked by ornate guilloche oval cartouches bearing the denomination $5 at left and right. Chinese script characters appear in the top and bottom border panels. The promise-to-pay text and issuer name are set in copperplate script.
