| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Cayman Islands in high relief at the centre of a mirror-proof field. The shield features a passant lion above wavy horizontal lines in the upper half and three five-pointed stars arranged in a triangular pattern on a similarly wavy ground in the lower half, representing the three islands. A green turtle surmounted by a pineapple serves as the crest above the shield. A scrolled ribbon below the shield bears the motto legend HE HATH FOUNDED IT UPON THE SEAS. The inscriptions CAYMAN ISLANDS to the left and FIVE DOLLARS to the right arc along the outer field. |
