Opmerkingen

Suriname decimalized its currency on 1 January 2004, replacing the Surinamese guilder at a rate of 1,000 to 1 — the new dollar was introduced specifically to eliminate the zeros that had accumulated through decades of inflation. This note belongs to that inaugural dollar series, printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company in Ottawa, which has handled Surinamese security printing through multiple currency regimes.

The series ran through 2009 before being superseded by updated issues. No significant printing errors or major varieties are documented for P#157.
