| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional figure of a man holding a spear and shield, set within a heraldic shield with ornamental border detailing. A traditional Palauan outrigger canoe under sail is depicted above the shield in the upper field. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF PALAU' arcs along the upper rim, flanked by six-pointed stars on each side, while the denomination '5$' appears in the lower field.
