Obverse description The obverse is printed in green and orange tones on a pale peach ground, with an intricate guilloche underprint at centre incorporating the national arms vignette in orange. At upper left, a dark green numeral denomination medallion bears the "$5" symbol, with elaborate lathe-work scrollwork flanking both sides. To the right, an intaglio vignette of Kaieteur Falls is set within an oval frame, captioned "KAIETEUR FALLS" below. Two facsimile signatures appear at centre-lower, identified by the legends "GOVERNOR" and "MINISTER OF FINANCE". A legal tender clause runs along the lower border.

Reverse description The reverse carries a central vignette of a sugar cane field worker engaged in manual harvesting at left, while a large industrial conveyor or tower crane associated with sugar processing dominates the right portion of the design. The composition is rendered in green intaglio on a pale underprint, with guilloche border patterns framing the scene. The denomination and issuer name are repeated in the upper and lower margins.
