Red serial numbers are printed in the upper centre, and the date 'Montreal, 2nd January 1935' appears below the denomination panel. | Popis rubu |
Printed in green intaglio, the reverse is dominated by a central vignette of the Bank of Montreal's neoclassical head office building in Montreal, rendered in fine detail with a columned portico and horse-drawn carriages in the foreground. Two large numeral '5' counters in elaborate guilloche rosettes flank the central vignette on either side. The bank name 'Bank of Montreal' arcs across the top in serif lettering, and the denomination 'Five Dollars' appears in a straight legend at the foot of the central frame. The printer's imprint 'Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited' is present in small type at the bottom margin. |
