备注

The Union Bank of Canada had deep roots in Quebec City, tracing its charter back to 1865, but by 1907 it was actively expanding westward into the prairie provinces — a push that made reliable, widely accepted paper essential. The American Bank Note Company in New York handled the printing, as it did for a significant portion of Canadian chartered bank issues in this period, sharing facilities and sometimes plate elements across multiple clients.

The bank was absorbed by the Royal Bank of Canada in 1925, after which outstanding notes were gradually redeemed. Survivors in any grade are not abundant; the western branches saw hard use.
