背面描述 The reverse is printed in dark green with intricate lathe-work guilloche patterns filling the field on both sides. A central oval vignette bears the bank's coat of arms, supported by two classical figures and inscribed with the motto INDUSTRIA LIBERTAS and the incorporation year 1859, surrounded by elaborate engine-turned geometric underprint work. The denomination is expressed as FIVE and 5 in multiple positions around the note, with EASTERN TOWNSHIPS BANK lettered along the lower margin.

备注

The Eastern Townships Bank was a regional Quebec institution that drew its clientele largely from the English-speaking Protestant farming communities settled between Montreal and the Maine border. By 1906 it had survived decades of competition from the major chartered banks, but not for much longer — the Canadian Bank of Commerce absorbed it in 1912, which effectively ended new issuance and set a hard ceiling on surviving note populations.

The American Bank Note Company's Ottawa plant handled a significant portion of Canadian chartered bank printing in this period, operating as a domestic subsidiary after the parent's New York operations proved logistically inconvenient for Canadian regulatory submissions.
