Denomination numerals and the sterling equivalent appear in each upper corner, with the issuer title in bold letterpress across the top, place and date inscriptions in script at lower left, and the denomination in script at lower right; the printer's imprint appears at the bottom margin. |

The British Royal coat of arms, supported by a lion and a unicorn, is centrally placed within an ornate border of guilloche scrollwork and corner rosettes. The denomination and sterling equivalent appear in bold text to each side of the arms, and the issuer's name is set in a decorative panel at the foot of the design; the motto ribbons and printer's imprint complete the composition. |
