Obverse description The obverse displays the national emblem of Qatar centrally positioned in the field, comprising two crossed scimitars with a traditional dhow under sail on stylised waves, flanked by a small island bearing two palm trees. The dual date legend arcs along the upper periphery, presenting the Gregorian year 2006 and the Hijri year 1427 in both Arabic-Eastern numerals and Latin numerals. The legend 'دولَة قطَر' (State of Qatar) appears in Arabic script below the date, completing the circular inscription. The overall design is rendered in a clean, moderately detailed relief characteristic of modern Arab Gulf coinage.
