Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents an allegorical composition commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Cercle de les Arts i les Lletres of the Valls d'Andorra. To the left stands a classically draped female figure, representing the Muse of the arts, holding a quill feather and a book or tablet. To the right, three figures are depicted in a group, evoking cultural gathering and collaboration, set against a stylised arc with a dotted background suggesting a stage or celestial canopy. A laurel branch adorns the lower field. The circumferential legend reads CERCLE DE LES ARTS I LES LLETRES VALLS D'ANDORRA, with XXV ANIVERSARI 1968-1993 inscribed along the lower arc.

Aanvullende informatie

Andorra's diners coinage of the late 1980s and 1990s emerged directly from the peculiar constitutional limbo the principality occupied before its 1993 constitution — the same year this coin was struck — which finally formalized Andorra as a sovereign parliamentary co-principality after centuries of feudal arrangement split between the French head of state and the Bishop of Urgell. Joan Martí i Alanis held that episcopal co-prince role from 1971 to 2003, making him one of the longest-serving figures in the position.

The Andorran Circle of Arts series used collector silver issues partly to generate seigniorage revenue, since Andorra had no central bank and no currency of its own.
