| Obverse description | Central field features a raised circular cartouche bearing the denomination '٥ دنانير' (5 Dinars) in large Arabic numerals. The upper field carries the legend 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Republic of Iraq) in stylised Arabic calligraphy. Two symmetrical geometric arabesque ornaments flank the central cartouche at mid-field. The lower arc bears the dual date '١٣٩٠هـ - ١٩٧١م' alongside the commemorative inscription 'يوبيل الجيش العراقي الذهبي' (Golden Jubilee of the Iraqi Army).
