背面描述 At centre, an intaglio vignette of a large obelisk-style monument surrounded by a dense gathering of figures, with palm trees in the background, forms the principal design element. Arabic inscriptions identifying the issuing authority appear at upper centre, with the denomination in Arabic script at lower right, all framed by elaborate multicolour arabesque guilloche borders in lilac, green, and blue. Numeral '5' is repeated in ornamental cartouches at lower left and upper right.

备注

Thomas De La Rue's contract with the Central Bank of Libya continued through the early 1990s despite the UN sanctions regime imposed on Tripoli in 1992 — this 1991-dated note was printed just ahead of that diplomatic rupture, which would complicate future procurement of Western-printed currency for years afterward.

The P#55 series is not scarce, but notes in genuinely circulated condition are harder to find than one might expect; Libya's cash economy at the time favored heavy use of lower denominations, leaving many 5-dinar notes in relatively light circulation.
