Jordan's 5 Dinar denomination has been the workhorse of everyday commercial transactions since the dinar was pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 1.41 in 1995 — a peg the central bank has defended without interruption through regional wars, refugee crises, and repeated currency speculation. That stability is deliberate policy, not accident, and the 5 Dinar note circulates heavily as a result.
De La Rue's Basingstoke facility has produced Jordanian currency for decades, giving the series a consistency of substrate and security architecture that distinguishes it from neighbors who have shifted printers more frequently.
