Obverse description The coat of arms of Tunisia occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing scales of justice and a lion on the lower quarters, surmounted by a galley ship, with the Tunisian crescent and star emblem at the top. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE TUNISIENNE arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, flanked by decorative foliate ornaments at either side. The numeral 5 and the denomination CINQ DINARS are inscribed along the lower rim in bold Latin lettering.
