Obverse description The Tunisian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing scales of justice at lower left and a lion at lower right, surmounted by a Tunisian galley sailing vessel, with a crescent and star emblem positioned above the shield. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE TUNISIENNE arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, flanked by decorative foliate ornaments. The denomination 5 CINQ DINARS is inscribed in two lines along the lower rim. The design is rendered in high relief against a smooth field, consistent with proof-quality striking.
