Obverse description The Tunisian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with scales of justice and a lion passant, surmounted by a sailing galley and flanked by decorative scrollwork. Above the shield, the national emblem features the crescent and star of Tunisia. The Latin legend RÉPUBLIQUE TUNISIENNE arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 CINQ DINARS is inscribed along the lower rim. The design is rendered in high relief against a plain field.

Reverse description The central field features a bold stylized commemorative design composed of abstract geometric and calligraphic elements, incorporating the numeral 7 and Arabic script, all within a circular decorative motif. A laurel branch extends to the right of the central device, and small decorative rosettes punctuate the inner border. The upper legend reads 15ème ANNIVERSAIRE DU 7 NOVEMBRE in Latin characters, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the coup of 7 November 1987. The dual dates 1423 and 2002, representing the Islamic and Gregorian calendars respectively, appear in the lower exergue, flanked by rosettes. The engraver's signature appears beneath the central device.
