Opmerkingen

Bradbury Wilkinson printed this series for Iraq through the late 1960s and into the 1970s, a period when the Baghdad government was consolidating Ba'athist control following the 1968 coup. The relationship between Iraq and British security printers remained pragmatic well into the oil-nationalization era — political hostility toward Western governments did not immediately disrupt procurement of printed currency from British firms.

Pick 59 is the last of the 5 Dinar type before the series was replaced in 1973. Watermark-only security on a note of this denomination now looks thin, but it was consistent with Bradbury Wilkinson's standard specification for the Iraqi contract at the time.
