The ensemble is surmounted by the Pahlavi imperial crown. A wreath of laurel and oak branches frames the central device on either side. Below the lion, the inscription 'بانک ملی ایران' or the denomination legend in Arabic script appears along the lower field. The rim is defined by a fine milled border.
