Obverse description The obverse features the German Federal Eagle displayed with wings spread, perched above a detailed architectural rendering of a monumental building rendered in the lower field. The numeral '5' appears prominently in the lower central field beneath the eagle, flanked by the mint mark 'G' below. The circular legend, separated by star ornaments, reads '+ BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND + 5 DEUTSCHE MARK G 1955' around the periphery, enclosed within a beaded border. The design reflects the classical Bundesadler style employed on West German coinage of the early Federal Republic period.
