背面描述 The reverse presents the heraldic shield of the city of Nuremberg at center, depicting an eagle displayed within a shield surmounted by a stylized architectural pediment or tabernacle motif, above which a multi-pointed star ornament is prominently placed. The date 1952 appears divided on either side of the central device. The circumferential legend GERMANISCHES NATIONALMUSEUM NÜRNBERG arcs around the upper field, while the commemorative inscription 100 JAHRE appears along the lower border, flanked by small star stops, celebrating the centenary of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum.

附加信息

The Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg celebrated its centenary in 1952, and the West German government considered issuing a commemorative five-mark piece to mark the occasion. This copper piece is the pattern that never advanced to circulation — the silver commemorative that did reach the public, KM# 112, was struck in .625 fine silver and released the same year.

Pattern coinage from early Federal Republic issues is genuinely scarce; the Bundesrepublik had only resumed sovereign coin production a few years prior, and trial strikes in off-metal compositions were rarely preserved outside official channels.
