Obverse description	Printed in red on a light underprint, the obverse carries a vignette of a traditional Gambian sailing pirogue on a river at left, with a palm-fringed shoreline in the background. A central guilloche rosette bears the denomination in both English and Arabic script. An intaglio portrait of President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara is at right, with his title inscription below; two facsimile signatures for the General Manager and Governor appear at lower centre.
