Brazil's Tesouro Nacional relied heavily on Thomas De La Rue through the mid-twentieth century, and this second-print 5 Cruzeiros is a product of that arrangement — London-printed, then shipped for local signing before release. The "autographed" designation refers to the manuscript signatures of treasury officials applied in Brazil after the notes arrived, distinguishing this emission from later facsimile-signed printings of the same type.
Pick 142 spans a surprisingly long circulation window for a low denomination, with the second printing identifiable primarily through serial prefix ranges rather than any overt design change.
