Issued to mark Prince Edward's marriage to Sophie Rhys-Jones in June 1999, this piece is one of dozens of commemoratives the Turks and Caicos Islands produced throughout the 1990s targeting the collector market rather than circulation. The islands' use of the crown denomination — and the US dollar as their actual currency — means these pieces were never intended to buy anything.
