The crown is rendered with fine engraving detail, showing the arched frame set with gemstones, the ermine-trimmed base band, the jewelled circlet, and the orb and cross finial at the apex. The surrounding legend is divided across the upper and lower portions of the rim, reading THE CROWN JEWELS in the upper arc and THE IMPERIAL STATE CROWN in the lower arc, separated by raised dot stops.
