| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field depicts the Apollo 11 command module floating upright in choppy ocean waters, supported by an inflatable collar, with deployment balloons visible atop the capsule. To the left, a recovery raft bears three astronauts in biological isolation garments approaching the module. The scene is rendered in high relief with detailed wave textures. The encircling legend reads APOLLO 11 at the top and 25th ANNIVERSARY 1969-1994 around the lower portion, with the engraver's initials LB visible in the lower field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, this piece belongs to a wave of commemoratives from small British territories that flooded the market in the early 1990s. The Turks and Caicos Islands had no particular connection to the space program — the ocean recovery theme references the splashdown in the Pacific, well outside Caribbean waters. These were produced for the collector trade, not circulation.
