| 正面描述 | The obverse displays the Arms of the Turks and Caicos Islands at centre, comprising a shield bearing a conch shell, a spiny lobster, and a Turk's head cactus, supported on either side by a flamingo rampant. Above the shield rises a helm and mantling surmounted by a pelican as crest. The legend TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination FIVE CROWNS appears in the lower field. The design is executed in high relief against a smooth field. |

The Turks and Caicos Islands had no independent monetary policy in 1992 — the territory used the US dollar for everyday transactions and issued crown-sized pieces almost exclusively as collector fodder. This piece was produced for the Barcelona Summer Olympics, one of dozens of identical commemorative programs farmed out to small British dependencies during the 1980s and 90s by the same handful of marketing intermediaries.
Actual circulation on the islands: essentially zero.
